Metallurgical Fire Joe Cincotta is one of the better producers in brutal death. He helped make Deformity one of the best albums in the genre for 2016. I often come back to this one.

Hannibal Corpse This is one of the best Albums from 2016! UniqueLeader choose good fucking bands. Jorel Hart's vocals are full of brutal anger! New Jersey Death Metal full of style, breakdowns in its right balance, very good guitar solos, some touch of prog passages without losing the brutality, and great guest musicians in various tracks, like Don Campan in "The Cult". Favorite track: Birthing the Deformity.

Len van der Wolf A spark of hope amidst the rubble. Favorite track: Birthing the Deformity.

Dustin Lawrence This is a great album, its heavy as anything, really fast, has pounding drums and a raunchy bass tone. It's just really gnarly metal. Favorite track: The Forgotten.

Replicate Extinction This is such a great modern death metal album. It has a very gritty production, which really accents the theme going on here. The music is very straight forward (in a good way) with some hints of other extreme genres sprinkled in. A very fun listen Favorite track: Birthing the Deformity.

Entitled Deformity, COGNITIVE’s sophomore full-length was recorded at Full Force Studio by Joe Cincotta (Suffocation, Internal Bleeding, Dehumanized) and mastered at West West Side Studios by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Converge, Black Breath, Mastodon et al), and boasts nine tracks of unrepentant heaviness. Combining technicality, guitar solos, grooves, and abstract ideas within their songwriting, COGNITIVE is continually pushing it self to think outside of the proverbial box while maintaining an organic and unapologetically brutal edge.
