Metallurgical Fire Carcinogenesis is one of the most underrated albums in recent memory, regardless of genre. Viscera mixes the best aspects of metalcore and deathcore, including outstanding “clean” vocals and choruses. It won’t beat The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, but it’ll definitely be on repeat. Favorite track: Layers of Skin.

sashavonkarl74 Got to see them live in Pratteln Z7 and got myself the Obsidian album first, which I also recommend, then got really into this new release and it is even better!! I really like all songs but the last one ends in a crescendo, leaving me with wanting more, needless to say, I often hit that repeat at the end... because I don't want it to end!!! Favorite track: On Earth as it is in Hell.

X Wild Alaskan Salmonella X I recently learned deathcore can be good or at least interesting, and so I decided to look for more. Carcinogenesis was getting minimal review coverage but with great ratings, with the underlying theme being this album has been slept on by the mainstream (?). And I agree, because this album is fantastic! Brutal but catchy with great songwriting and melodic accents. The vocals lean a bit core-ward (yum), but occasionally reach both the toilet bowl and screech registers. Worth your money! Favorite track: Sungazer.

Viktor Forsberg I love-sega-genesis!!! Fuck yeah, based death core, this shit gets me going in the morning. Favorite track: Carcinogenesis.

def my aoty from 2023. Extreme, almost proggy metal with some of the most topical lyricism in this post 2020 world. Beautiful, modulated vocals help paint a very bleak world, with the sing song nature of the choruses in a lot of the tracks making them undenyingly fun sing-a-longs. But those guitars , bass, DRUMS...all mixed to BRUTAL perfection. An instant classic, and better than like 80% of all previous metal ever recorded, even CD's previous efforts. iheartf2p
