Backwashed words and liquor chased phrases
Followed by fits of nicotine meandering through the night
Agitating the sores on the inside of my mouth
My throat’s itching to say something profound
The television's projections light up this room
Just the elusive glow
No explanation as to why it's on but it's comforting to pretend someone is there
Objectifying the illusions portrayed on the screen
A paralyzing abstraction of nothingness
My head swells and my eyes shrivel up as I lie awake yet fast asleep
Every minute is an hour and every hour a separate infinity
The numbers change but the feeling stays
Before Ashen, I thought they were overrated. Deathcore bands seem to have a capacity to evolve quickly. I’ve seen quite a few bands in this genre grow exponentially from one album to the next, and Ashen is a particularly strong example. Metallurgical Fire
The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire
never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu

Former member of Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 unveils a rich, swinging new record that pulls from jazz and soul in its high-wattage songs. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 24, 2024
First WTF was google music actually throwing something good into my feed.
Second WTF was everything every goddamn member of this band does. This and the previous album have been on repeat for weeks. All other music tastes like diet water. Help. Gruso
