This album, whilst retaining the crushing signature mix of Detestor, hauls the experimentation and sound design through all 9 blackened plateaus of hell (a bit of Deathspell?). Albeit lacking some of the technicality and groovy orientation of the 2013 self titled album, I’d argue in favor of Abyssal being significantly more complex in the ambient world building department, and far, FAR denser. Finally a deathcore album that sounds fresh and not like all the others! Vocals, instruments, production - everything is exceptional. Amazing album you need to hear over and over again! Favorite songs: Animal, Demon King, Prophecy of the Falcon, Mortal Vessel & Foe of the Inhuman, but seriously there is no bad song on this one. 10/10, and already the best deathcore album of the year! Cheers guys, I hope you will invade Germany soon.

I've never been able to pick a favorite before, but every single thing about this album is just perfection. Flawless production, god-level riffage, ride cymbal work that rings through to your bones, bass lines that perfectly accentuate the rhythm and the riffs, and of course HAIL MOLLUSCA
